Nokia has been chosen by NASA to build the first cellular network on the Moon.
The Finnish firm has been selected by the space agency to launch a mobile network on the natural satellite as part of their plan to return humans to the Moon in 2024 as part of their Artemis programme.
The US government-funded programme aims to land "the first woman and the next man" on the Moon, specifically at the lunar south pole region.
Nokia aims to have the network running on the Moon towards the end of 2022.
The company is joining forces with space craft design firm Intuitive Machines to have the network delivered.
The network will become the first LTE (Long-Term Evolution) communications system on the Moon.
