Mark Zuckerberg has criticised Apple over an upcoming privacy update.
The Facebook CEO has ignited in a public feud with the technology company after they shared plans to give users more control over their data by prompting users to give apps permission to track their activity across other apps and the web.
He told Clubhouse the update could harm businesses, saying: "The reality is is that I'm confident that we're gonna be able to manage through that situation well and we'll be in a good position. I think it's possible that we may even be in a stronger position if Apple's changes encourage more businesses to conduct commerce on our platforms."
However, Zuckerberg is not the only one with concerns over the update as Spotify CEO Daniel Ek who brought up that the music streaming service filed an antirust complaint against Apple in 2019.
He said: "My view is that this is very damaging, not only to Spotify, but the entire kind of broader ecosystem of app developers and creators and this is also why we filed the formal complaint."
Zuckerberg added to Ek's comments that Facebook had "to go back and forth for a long time with Apple" to prevent the company from taking a cut from a news product Facebook built and other features during the pandemic that the social network didn't take a revenue share from.
