Christmas Day has been changed by technological advances.
In a new survey from Sony, over a quarter (27%) of people in the UK would rather watch catch up TV rather than watching the Queen's Speech on its set 3pm broadcast on December 25.
Although 55% of families still love the nostalgic tradition of board games, 1 in 10 (13%) want to teach their grandparents how to play computer games.
Technologic advances of the years - ranging from growing screen sizes, streaming platforms, 4K technology and more - continue to tranform the way people behave over the festive season.
Meanwhile, Sony's XH90 BRAVIA will take things further, with its Smart TV abilities, including Google Assistant being ready to answer questions on the day, while allowing people to watch what they want on their own schedule.
Meanwhile, the tech giant's HDR TV is also ready for PlayStation 5, promising a smooth gaming experience.
Mike Somerset - the TV Marketing Manager at Sony - commented: “Over the years everything from the invention of a TV remote through to 3D TV, and HD to flatscreen TVs and catch up services has boosted the way we watch our TV sets – even more so at Christmas when there is more choice than ever.
“With models such as the latest XH90 BRAVIA TV from Sony, you’ll be transported into the action with a beautifully crisp view and surround sound from your sofa.
"Thanks to its Smart TV functionality, viewers can watch what they want, when they want."
