A mismanaged program that aimed to give over 600,000 students an iPad will award the LA Unified School District (LAUSD) a settlement worth $4.2 million from Apple.
This comes as a result of a $1.3 billion plan between several partners including Lenovo.
With this agreement, Apple will pay $4.2 million while Lenovo has agreed to give the district $2.2 million worth of laptops recently purchased for free.
Pearson, the software giant tasked with providing the mathematics and English curriculum to use with this project has been told to give LAUSD $6.4 million.
Even the FBI are getting involved and investigating how and why this project went so badly.
