I love this season's crop tops so much better than the tarty look ones of past. I have a a pretty formal dinner to attend and would like to team one with a skirt, I am lucky to be quite tall so most likely would wear flats or small heels have you any idea

The crop top fashion trend won't be slowing down anytime soon, and they're still suitable to wear through autumn/winter too.
Expect to see them right into next year too, they were highly featured on the Spring Summer 14 runways too.
If you're wearing them for autumn though, you may want to try a long-sleeved or three-quarter length option like Jessica Alba in the above image. Not only will you be warmer, but you'll be more season-appropriate too.
If you're attending a formal dinner too steer clear of jersey materials as these are very casual and will only detract from your whole look.
Pair one with a pair of smart trousers and heels, or a pencil skirt for a sophisticated look.
