Britain's Queen Elizabeth will visit Belfast today (24.06.14).
The 88-year-old monarch and her husband Prince Philip are embarking on a three-day trip to Northern Ireland and part of their agenda includes a trip to the studios where the popular HBO drama series 'Game Of Thrones' is filmed.
As well as the set visit, the couple will also drop in on the'Antiques Road Show', as their official Northern Irish residence, Hillsborough Castle, is playing host to experts and crew from next week.
The Democratic Unionist leader and Sinn Fein Deputy First Minister Martin McGuinness will be at Hillsborough this evening for a private audience with the queen, along with Northern Ireland Secretary, Theresa Villiers.
The queen and Philip's schedule also includes a visit to the historic Crumlin Road Gaol to see how the prison has been transformed into a popular tourist attraction, and a reception and lunch at Belfast City Hall.
While past visits have seen the queen's itinerary closely guarded due to security fears, this week's engagements in the region have been publicised in advance.
It is said to be a sign of "changed times" in Northern Ireland and the visit has been described as a "great honour" by local people.
The queen - who last visited in 2012 - will also attend a Royal British Legion reception in Coleraine in Co. Londonderry to launch a programme of activities commemorating the First World War.
The trip will be the royal couple's 21st to the region.
