Britain's Queen Elizabeth attended the opening day of Royal Ascot yesterday (18.06.13).
The British monarch was joined by Prince Charles and Duchess Camilla as she made her grand entrance in a horse drawn carriage at the start of the annual horseracing event in Berkshire, south east England.
Following her official procession, the queen appeared in a jubilant spirit as she watched one of the races from the royal box with other members of the royal family.
Bookmakers had taken bets on the colour of the queen's outfit prior to the start of Ascot, however, there was some disagreement about whether her sartorial choice was pink or peach - with Buckingham Palace describing it as the latter.
Ladbrokes spokesman Alex Donohue told the MailOnline: "We're not going to pick fights with the Palace so if they say it's peach we'll pay on peach. But it was pink to our eyes so we'll pay out on pink too!"
As well as Prince Charles and Duchess Camilla, other royals who attended the prestigious sporting event included Prince Andrew, who emerged in a second horse drawn carriage behind the queen along with his daughters, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie.
The opening day of Ascot also attracted a host of top stars including Girls Aloud singer Sarah Harding, Katherine Jenkins, Aiswarya Rai and Gary Lineker.
