Priyanka Chopra doesn't think anyone could join the royal family the way her friend Meghan Markle will once she's married Prince Harry later this year.

The 35-year-old actress is rumoured to have been chosen as one of the former 'Suits' actress' bridesmaid when she walks down the aisle in the spring but, although she refused to divulge whether she's bagged the role, she is convinced the brunette beauty will be the perfect addition to the famous family because she's so "nice."

Speaking to Harper's Bazaar Arabia, Priyanka said when asked whether she's a bridesmaid for Meghan: "If you see me there, you'll know."

She then added: "I don't think anybody else would be able to do it the way she will. She's just right for it. She's an icon, truly, that girls can look up to, that women can look up to. She's normal, she's sweet, she's nice, she thinks about the world, wants to change it and this was even before any of this happened."

And Priyanka hopes the 36-year-old actress will use her status within the royal family to help raise awareness about issues that affect people in today's world.

She explained: "So I do think Meghan being a part of the royal family is a big step in the direction of so many things; of women, of feminism, of diversity, of race, of the monarchy versus everyone else. It's a beautiful step in the right direction."

Priyanka and Meghan have been friends for years but the singer is yet to meet Harry.

The prince and his bride - who have been together almost two years - will get married on 19 May 2018 at St George's Chapel at Windsor Castle in England.
