Britain's Princess Beatrice has become the patron of York's Royal Theatre.
The 24-year-old royal - who is the eldest daughter of the Duke of York - decided to take up the position after visiting the theatre last year and becoming fascinated with the behind-the-scenes process.
Liz Wilson, York Theatre Royal's chief executive, told the Yorkshire Post: "We are delighted and looking forward to welcoming her Royal Highness Princess Beatrice to the Theatre Royal on her next visit to York to personally thank her for her support."
Beatrice first visited the theatre last year, where she attended one of the costume workshops.
She witnessed preparations for last August's production of the historical 'Mystery Plays' and cut the first piece of fabric for an angel costume. 'The York Mystery Plays' recount story of the Bible and were first performed in the 1300s.
Meanwhile, Beatrice is gearing up for an elaborate production of her own this week and is busy planning ahead for her 25th birthday party celebrations on Thursday (08.08.13).
Guests - who include Prince Harry, Ashton Kutcher and Robbie Williams - have been asked to bring their trainers to take part in an outdoor sports contest before being treated to a gourmet dinner at Royal Lodge in Windsor Great Park.
