Britain's Princes William and Harry are to make history by hosting an online video chat today (09.07.14).

The progressive pair will take part in the first ever royal Google Hangout live from Buckingham Palace to mark the launch of the Queen's Young Leaders Programme.

Princes William and Harry are to make history today (09.07.14) by taking part in the first ever royal online video chat.

William, 32, and Harry, 29, will speak to five exceptional youngsters in Commonwealth countries around the world in the 12-minute chat which will take place at 3pm BST.

The video chat is in aid of a new scheme that will award young people aged 18 to 29 for their efforts to help their community. All 53 Commonwealth countries will be recognised and members of each country will be awarded.

The royals will launch the search for nominees via the Google chat and will also be using Twitter - where they are expected to post selfies - using the hashtag #TheSearchIsOn.

The awards scheme was created by the Queen Elizabeth Diamond Jubilee Trust, in conjunction with Comic Relief and the Royal Commonwealth Society.

Dr. Astrid Bonfield of the trust said: "We are looking for the most exceptional leaders from around the Commonwealth, we are looking for this generation's Nelson Mandela.

"Who are the people who are going to inspire a whole generation? We want to find in every single Commonwealth country the young people who are already making a difference in their country."
