Prince William visits troops in Aldershot

Prince William joined the crowds at the annual British Military Tournament at Earl's Court Arena in London yesterday (08.12.13).

The 31-year-old royal - who quit his role as an RAF pilot in September - was on hand for the fundraising event yesterday and enjoyed a spectacle of showmanship from fellow army members.

The event saw servicemen and women take the stage with dazzling parades, stunts, horse and camel tricks, and military re-enactments.

The British Military Tournament began three years ago and raises funds for three charities, the ABF The Soldiers' Charity, the Royal Navy & Royal Marines Charity and the Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund.

The event has raised more than £450,000 in the years since it launched.

Doting dad William ended his RAF career earlier this year following the birth of his first child, Prince George, with his wife Duchess Catherine.

However, he is still incredibly supportive of the military and on Friday (06.12.13) went to Aldershot to greet recently returned troops from Afghanistan and present them with medals.

He said: "You did your job magnificently, helping the people of Helmand to face their future with greater security and confidence, and you all came home safe and sound."
