A tree surgeon rescued by Prince William cheekily asked the royal to visit him in hospital.

Prince William

Jim Schembri had William and his air ambulance team to thank for coming to his aid after he was crushed by a falling branch, and after initially not realising the royal had been comforting him for 30 minutes as he lay on a stretcher, he asked the prince pay him a visit.

He said: "I said, 'Oh, you better come and see me then, later.' "

When asked if William had been in contact, Jim replied: "A text would be nice."

Jim recently admitted he was "shocked" when he found out it was William who had been holding his head and talking to him for half-an-hour following the accident, after he joked that the royal had better not be flying the helicopter he was lifted into.

He revealed the father-of-two - who has children Prince George, two, and 10-month-old Princess Charlotte with wife Duchess Catherine - asked him about his kids.

Speaking on 'Good Morning Britain', Jim added: "He asked did I have children. He said it's tough when they're growing up at that age."

Jim previously admitted he enjoyed a spot of "military banter" with the prince for 30 minutes before he realised who he was talking to.
