Britain's Prince William shocked passengers by flying to Washington DC on a commercial plane.
The second-in-line to the British throne opted not to use a private jet for his trip to meet the US President Barack Obama yesterday (08.12.14), instead he settled on flying first class on a commercial flight from New York to the country's capital.
Many customers who were on the domestic flight took to the photo sharing app Instagram to share their amazement.
User Sam Kim wrote: "Our flight was delayed and a caravan of black suburbans pulled up to the plane.
"Then the most unexpected guest stepped onto out DC shuttle flight this morning. (sic)"
While Twitter user Eli Ross noted how "humble" the 32-year-old royal must be.
Alongside a picture of the Prince, Eli wrote: "I am still amazed #Prince William flies COACH. That's pretty humble/awesome. Who knew? (sic)"
His Royal Highness was visiting the President to discuss the problems of the illegal wildlife trade, while his wife Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge spent the morning crafting with children at the Northside Center for Child Development in New York.
The royal couple are enjoying a three-day trip to the United States of America, before returning to the United Kingdom on Wednesday (10.12.14).
