Prince William and Duchess Catherine enjoy taking their children on surfing holidays to Cornwall.
The Mayoress of Newquay, Jane Leadbetter, spoke with the royal couple on their trip to the Cornish town on Thursday (01.09.16) and Catherine, 34, said they often take short breaks with their children - three-year-old Prince George and Princess Charlotte, 15-months - to the south coast because they are keen surfers.
Jane was speaking to Catherine at the Wave Project where they met with young people who benefit from the service, which encourages young people to take up water sports to help with anxiety.
According to the Daily Mirror newspaper, Jane recalled: "She [Catherine] said they would love it here, they do bring them down to Cornwall. They surf themselves.
"I can't remember where she said they surfed but it was two places here."
Meanwhile, Jane's husband, Carl - who is the Mayor of the town - said William is keen to do some surfing while they are down this way.
On having the royal couple in town, he said: "It was absolutely thrilling. It was a delight.
"I welcomed them both to the town and said we are absolutely delighted they are visiting us.
"We talked about surfing. The Prince said he loves to surf and is hoping to do some."
