Prince Harry at Thomas van Straubenzee's wedding

Britain's Prince William and Prince Harry came face-to-face with their ex-girlfriends at a wedding over the weekend (22.06.13).

The handsome heirs showed no signs of apprehension as they attended old family friends Thomas van Straubenzee and Lady Melissa Percy's lavish nuptials at Alnwick Castle in Northumberland alongside 500 fellow guests - despite both royals being without a date.

William's heavily pregnant wife, Duchess Catherine, opted not to attend the function as she feared it was too close to her July due date to make the 300-mile drive to the North East of England.

Meanwhile, Harry, who is rumoured to have recently split from fellow wedding guest, socialite Cressida Bonas, attended the high-society event alone.

The 28-year-old royal was also unable to avoid his former flame Chelsy Davy - who he dated on-and-off for six years - since she was a bridesmaid at the wedding.

According the MailOnline, William, 31, was confronted with no less than six of his former flirtations, the most serious of which was his "first love" Rose Farquhar, who he first met at Gloucestershire's Beaufort Polo Club.

He also caught up with Rosie van Cutsem, the aristocrat he was rumoured to have dated when he briefly split from Catherine in 2007.

After the ceremony held in St. Michael's Church, the bride and groom processed through Alnwick in a horse-drawn carriage to attend a fancy reception and fireworks display at the castle, which is famed for appearing as Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in the 'Harry Potter' films.
