Britain's Prince Philip doesn't want the 'fuss' of a state funeral.
The 92-year-old royal is insistent on avoiding the pageantry of a large funeral and doesn't wish to lie in state at Westminster Hall in London, reports the Daily Express newspaper.
Instead, it's thought the Duke of Edinburgh's body will be held at St James' Palace, where Princess Diana's body was also laid following her funeral in 1997.
The last royal to receive a major state funeral was the Queen Mother in 2002.
More than 200,000 people flooded the streets of London to pay their respects to the late royal as she lay in state at Westminster Hall.
This isn't the first time Prince Philip has expressed his wishes for arrangements after his death.
It was previously said the "stubborn" royal was adamant on not having a state funeral, but had made some concessions at the behest of his wife, Queen Elizabeth.
A source said: "Philip does not want his funeral to be a formal state occasion, or anything approaching one.
"He wants everything to be low key, although he has conceded that flags can fly at half mast on all royal residences including Buckingham Palace and Windsor Castle."
