Britain's Prince Philip was released from hospital today (17.06.13).
The Duke of Edinburgh left the London Clinic in Harley Street, London, this morning in "good spirits" after being admitted for an exploratory operation on his abdomen 11 days ago, and he appeared to have the spring back in his step as he walked out of the hospital sporting a huge smile.
A Buckingham Palace spokesman said: "The duke is in good condition and good spirits. He'll take a period of convalescence, of approximately two months.
"The duke has expressed his thanks and appreciation to medical staff at the London Clinic and the many members of the public who have sent good wishes."
The Duke - who spent his 92nd birthday in hospital - was admitted two weeks ago to have a laparotomy, which was carried out under general anaesthetic. It is yet not known why he had the operation, which was scheduled after a routine health check-up discovered something unusual.
Philip has suffered from a number of health problems over the past few years, including a bladder infection which required hospital treatment last August. He was also taken unwell following the Thames Diamond Jubilee Pageant which took place along the River Thames in London on June 3, 2012.
