Prince Harry has begun his trek in the Antarctic after a blizzard left his team snowed in.
The 29-year-old royal headed to the start line of the Walking With The Wounded expedition today, where he begins the first stage in his 200-mile race towards the South Pole after a huge storm delayed the start of their journey.
Now the weather has cleared, Harry and his team of ex-servicemen - most of whom have life-long injuries - will catch up on the vital skiing exercises they missed whilst confined to their accommodation, to help them acclimatise to the freezing conditions.
Prince Charles will be glad to learn that his son has had a safe start to his 21-day journey, after expressing concern about the dangers of trek.
Harry - who also completed the 2011 North Pole challenge - explained to Sky News: "My father was a little concerned, but I obviously tried to keep him calm and explain the North Pole was the dangerous one because we're walking on a frozen ocean whereas this time there are crevasses.
"But hopefully the guides will take us around that. Apart from frostbite you should be able to look after yourself as long as you just head south."
