Prince Harry

Britain's Prince Harry will reunite with the wounded soldiers he trekked to the South Pole with today (21.01.14).

The 29-year-old royal has arranged a reunion with his team mates in London in order to further highlight the importance of supporting all injured servicemen and women.

The prince walked 200 miles alongside single and double amputee ex-servicemen and women to raise money for the charity Walking With The Wounded last month.

Prince Harry's team were initially racing against teams from the United States and Commonwealth, but it was axed due to harsh weather conditions and all participants were pulled together as one team.

While in Antarctica, Harry told Sky News: "Every single person who takes part in this challenge is extraordinary.

"The fact these guys have made it to this point is extraordinary and I count myself incredibly lucky to be part of it."

Meanwhile, Harry is to take up a new role in London after leaving his job as an Apache helicopter co-pilot.

Kensington Palace said: "Prince Harry has completed his attachment to 3 Regiment Army Air Corps and will now take up a Staff Officer role in HQ London District.

"The Prince will take the position of SO3 (Defence Engagement). His responsibilities will include helping to co-ordinate significant projects and commemorative events involving the Army in London.

"Prince Harry will retain the rank of Captain and be based from Horse Guards, in Central London."
