Britain's Prince Harry is set to pay a powerful tribute to wounded servicemen and women at the 'Pride of Britain Awards' tonight (06.10.14).

Harry, 30, will honour those soldiers who performed at the Invictus Games, which were held in London last month.

He will tell the audience: "The Invictus games shone a spotlight on the incomparable character of servicemen and women and their families. Their stories move, inspire and humble me.

"They are as amazing as they are unique and I am absolutely delighted that the team is receiving this Pride of Britain Award."

He will add: "To fight for your country takes courage but to move beyond life changing injuries takes an extraordinary level of grit and determination.

"I can only begin to imagine how challenging the journey of recovery is, but the admiration I have for these men and women is limitless."

This comes shortly after Penny Junor, Harry's biographer, said the decision to stop the royal from serving in Iraq due to safety fears could have caused him to go "off the rails" for a period of time - but it didn't.

She told the Daily Telegraph newspaper: "Instead, he received the support of key people in the Army, who eventually deployed him to Afghanistan. And once there he discovered he was really good at flying.

"That represented a significant shift for a young man who'd grown up always feeling second best, not as good as his brother."
