Prince Harry

Prince Harry

Britain's Prince Harry will spend Christmas apart from Cressida Bonas.

The 29-year-old royal - who has been forced to abandon his 200-mile Polar trek - is expected to remain separated from his girlfriend during the holiday period as he celebrates Christmas with his family at Sandringham.

Cressida, 24, won't be joining him for the annual Boxing Day (26.12.13) shoot on the Norfolk estate either, contrary to previous reports.

A friend of the socialite told The Telegraph newspaper: "Cressida will be with her family for Christmas."

Another added: "Harry will see her before he goes to Sandringham and after. They have all the time in the world."

Cressida has been to Sandringham twice since she started dating Harry a year ago, but never while his grandparents Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip are in residence.

A royal source told the paper: "His Royal Highness knows that it would not be appropriate for Miss Bonas to join the Royal family for Christmas until they are a married couple."

Meanwhile, Harry was spotted doing some last minute Christmas shopping in Cape Town, South Africa, this weekend, where he stayed en route from Antarctica.

The handsome prince - who is sporting a bushy new beard - picked up some souvenirs at the V & A Waterfront with his bodyguards before heading home to London today (23.12.13).

The prince and his Walking with the Wounded teammates were forced to evacuate the Antarctic earlier than expected when a storm approached the South Pole which would have left them stranded over Christmas.
