Prince Harry

Britain's Prince Harry is expected to complete his South Pole trek today (13.12.13).

The 29-year-old royal began the 200-mile charity walk on December 1 and he is expected to reach the South Pole today, Friday the 13th, which he admits is "unlucky for some, lucky for us".

In an audio blog for charity Walking with the Wounded, he said: "A half day on Friday and we get to the South Pole on Friday 13th, unlucky for some, lucky for us.

"The wind has dropped down, which is nice. I think everyone is feeling a bit tired but slowly getting into the rhythm.

"Only just got into the rhythm now and it has almost finished."

The charity trek was originally meant to be a competitive race between Harry's team - which consists of wounded British servicemen and women - and teams from the United States and Commonwealth.

However, the race was axed earlier this week due to hazardous weather conditions.

Despite the gruelling weather, Harry previously said he was in "high spirits".

He revealed: "Everyone is in really high spirits. The race obviously got cancelled a couple of days ago - a really good thing that has happened. It is nice to see everybody intermingling with each other, not only every night because we camp together but also during the day."
