Prince Harry

A man who threatened to murder Britain's Prince Harry is due to be sentenced today (18.11.13).

Ashraf Islam, a Muslim convert previously known as Mark Townley, pleaded guilty to making threats to kill the 29-year-old royal on May 25th and is expected to appear at Isleworth Crown Court today, according to ITV News.

The 30-year-old man was arrested after turning himself in to Hounslow police station, west London, on May 23, shortly after the horrific killing of soldier Lee Rigby, 25, in Woolwich.

While the exact nature of Ashraf's plot to wipe out the prince remains unclear, officers found he had made internet searches for the words "kidnapping", "guns" and "vans" on his laptop.

At the time of the incident, a family friend told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "His mother is devastated, totally devastated. She is not a well woman. This is all too much. We only heard last night that he had been arrested and jailed so the sense of shock today is immense.

"The family are speaking to no one about this. They are trying to make sense of what has happened to Mark and how he had got himself in this terrible situation."
