Britain's Prince George has been offered sailing lessons.

The 11-month-old royal might not even be old enough to walk yet, but his mother, Duchess Catherine, accepted the kind offer from champion Sir Ben Aislie during an event yesterday (10.06.14).

According to the Daily Express newspaper, Sir Ben, 37, said: "The Duchess was very keen, but not for a couple of years yet - when he's about seven or eight."

He went on: "But we'd love to get the Duchess sailing sooner. She's very keen and we'd love to get her out on the water - she doesn't get to do it much now"

Duchess Catherine met Sir Ben at the National Maritime Museum in London's Greenwich, where she backed his bid to launch a British team to compete for the America's cup, a huge sailing competition.

The 32-year-old royal has previously proved her sailing skills by winning a race with husband Prince William during a trip to New Zealand earlier this year.

The Duchess wore an elegant white Jaeger dress with black trim for the America's cup event and appeared thrilled to meet a number of sailors and financial backers for the team.

The race first took place near the Isle of Wight in the mid-19th Century - but a British team has never won the event and Sir Ben is determined to change this.
