Commemorative coins have been made to celebrate the birth of Britain's Prince George.
The Royal Canadian Mint unveiled two special coins and a collector coin set on Thursday (08.08.13) to mark the arrival of the royal baby, who is third in line to the throne.
Speaking at the unveiling ceremony Rideau Hall in Ottawa, Canada, Governor General David Johnston said: "These coins are exceptional keep-sakes and tangible reminders to Royal watchers and collectors alike, indeed to all Canadians, of this historic occasion."
According to CBC News, the silver $5 collector coin boasts gold plating and the initials of Prince William and Duchess Catherine, George's parents, while the outside ring features images reminiscent of childhood.
The $25 coin is stamped with the image of traditional pram bearing three maple leafs, with "William" and "Catherine" emblazoned in a ring around the design.
Finally, the three coin set of silver $20 coins show three separate scenes, including a sleeping baby holding his parents hands. They convey the theme of "sweet dreams," "tender bonds" and "a hopeful future."
The coins - which will be sold at Canada Post outlets - are expected to sell out in record time and can be pre-ordered on the Mint's website.
