Britain's Prince Edward is embarking on a tour of Nottinghamshire today (25.09.15).
The Earl of Wessex - the youngest child of Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip - will commemorate the county's rich history with several royal visits today.
Among his itinerary is a trip to the National Holocaust Centre and Museum in Newark as it celebrates its 20th anniversary, reports the Nottingham Post.
A group of schoolchildren from nearby Tuxford Primary Academy will greet the prince at the museum to learn more about the holocaust.
Edward, 51, will also visit the National Civil War Museum to watch a promotional film made for guests.
He is then expected to have the privilege of coming into contact with a 2,000 year old necklace found by a local person in 2005.
Ending his trip, the royal will be treated to a special preview showing of 'Hood', a new production at the Theatre Royal.
The theatre is celebrating its 150th anniversary and will mark the prince's visit by presenting him with a cake in the shape of the popular venue.
