Britain's Prince Charles has paid tribute to a former criminal who turned his life around after receiving a grant from his charity, the Prince's Trust.
Duane Jackson approached the charity for money to set up his own software business following his release from jail after serving time for drug smuggling and Charles revealed his pride at Duane's success.
Speaking in a pre-recorded video message at the Daily Mirror's Pride of Britain Awards on Monday (28.09.15), Charles praised Duane for establishing a multi-million pound business and donating money back to the charity.
He said: "At the very heart of the Daily Mirror's Pride of Britain Awards lies a recognition shared by my Prince's Trust.
"And that is the ability of people whose lives have been so difficult, to achieve extraordinary things.
"Duane Jackson is one such person."
Duane was presented with the Prince's Trust award by Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne.
Speaking about how he got involved with the charity, he said: "The Prince's Trust came and visited Ford prison and spoke about what they did. It felt like it was the opportunity to put my life in the right direction."
