Britain's Prince Charles has been approached by police about a new probe into Princess Diana's death.
Metropolitan Police are looking into sensational claims the SAS was involved in the deaths of the royal and her lover Dodi Al Fayed in 1997, and they have now reached out to Charles, according to the Daily Express newspaper.
It's thought Scotland Yard could be moving ahead with a full investigation into the claims after approaching Prince Charles, Dodi's father Mohamed Al Fayed, and Lord Justice Scott Baker, who presided over a 2008 inquest into her death.
The new probe comes after a letter was handed to police by the parents of the estranged wife of an SAS member - identified only as 'Soldier N' - in which they claim that he told their daughter the SAS was involved in her death and "covered it up".
Mohamed Al Fayed has always been adamant that Diana and his son were murdered, and now sources close to Dodi's family are worried the new claims will be "swept under the carpet".
The family reportedly want a full inquiry into the claims and the deaths.
