Britain's Zara Phillips' husband says the birth of his baby daughter was "definitely the best day" of his life.
The 32-year-old royal - the granddaughter of Britain's Queen Elizabeth - gave birth to her first child on Friday (17.01.14) at the Gloucester Royal Hospital, and her spouse has taken to Twitter to thank everyone for their support and well wishes.
He tweeted: "Thanks so much for all your kind messages. Definitely the best day of my life today, so happy! The girls are both doing great!
"Big thanks to all involved at Gloucester Royal, they were fantastic!"
The tiny tot is yet to be named, but is already at home with her proud parents after weighing a healthy 7lbs 12oz.
A spokesman announced the news on Friday (17.01.14): "The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Princess Royal, Captain Mark Phillips and Mike's parents, Mr Phillip and Mrs Linda Tindall, have been informed and are delighted with the news.
"The baby's name will be confirmed in due course.
"This baby is the first child for Zara and Mike, the third grandchild for The Princess Royal and the fourth great-grandchild for The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh, and is 16th line to the Throne."
Zara announced her engagement to rugby player Mike, 35, in 2010 and tied the knot a year later on July 30, 2011.
