Mike Tindall thinks Britain's Prince William and Duchess Catherine will be "great" parents.
The rugby star - who is married to William's cousin Zara Phillips - says the entire royal family are excited about welcoming the couple's baby into the world in July.
He said: "Willy, sorry Prince William, will be outstanding while Kate is a natural mother.
"It's great for them. The whole family is really excited about the baby. I think everyone's excited.
"I'm so happy for those two. They'll be great parents."
However, Mike insists the new royal baby won't make him and Zara rush into starting a family in the near future.
Speaking at a golf fundraiser for his forces' charity Rugby For Heroes, he said: "Having kids is something we want, but it's finding that window and we haven't quite found that yet. It's difficult."
The sportsman and his wife recently sold their house and moved onto Zara's mother Princess Anne's Gatcombe Park estate, but Mike insisted the move is just a "stop gap", though they have their own space.
He said: "We're hardly living with the in-laws as we have a separate house."
The golf fundraiser was sponsored by Legion Foundation.
