'King Charles III' actress Lydia Wilson found imagining what life is like for Britain's Duchess of Cambridge "really fun".
The 31-year-old actress plays Duchess Catherine in the hit satirical play and has confessed she loved preparing for the role as no one really knows how she feels about her life in the limelight.
Speaking about how someone on the London Underground recently asked her what she thought of Catherine's new bangs, Lydia said: "We [may] know that she has a fringe right now, but we don't know how she feels existentially as an outsider in this bizarre royal family. It's really fun to imagine what she might be going through or how clever she must've been to thrive in this very restricted environment."
Lydia particularly enjoyed playing the Duchess - who has two-year-old son Prince George and five-month-old daughter Princess Charlotte with Prince William - because their lives are clearly so different.
She told WWD.com: "She must be up at the crack of dawn, in a job that leaves very little room for your inner life, whereas my life has been sort of a disproportionate focus on my inner life, because I'm trained as an actor. I'm allowed to express and explore, whereas with Kate I think the biggest thing is the sacrifice of that conversation."
'King Charles III' opens on Broadway next month.
