Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge is "feeling lousy" as she tries to cope with her extreme morning sickness.
Catherine, nee Kate Middleton, has reportedly been struggling to cope with her extreme morning sickness - also known as hyperemesis gravidarum - since announcing her second pregnancy in September.
According to the Daily Mail newspaper, the royal has preferred to stay at home with her mum, Carole Middleton and her first son, Prince George while she is feeling so poorly.
A source told the paper: "Kate is feeling so lousy that she just wanted to be with her family and out of the public view.
"She's extremely close to Carole, who is very much a hands-on grandmother. Between her and their nanny, Maria [Borallo], Kate has all the help she needs with George while she is feeling so sick."
The newspaper also revealed that Kate - who has cancelled several scheduled appearances since the news was made public -will be returning to her royal duties later this month, when she and her husband Prince William will welcome the Singaporean President Tony Tan to Britain on October 21.
