The Duke of Cambridge and his family are reportedly just like "any other family".

The 34-year-old royal, his 35-year-old wife Duchess Catherine and their two children Prince George, three, and Princess Charlotte, two, have been likened to families who do not have a royal or celebrity status because they follow "no formality" when they are at home and enjoy eating homemade meals and spending quality time all together.

Speaking about the royal family to PEOPLE, a source, who is believed to have recently enjoyed a meal with the foursome at their Anmer Hall home, said: "Guests are typically greeted by Kate [Catherine] herself at the door, with Charlotte in her arms and George clinging to her ankles.

"There was no formality at all. It really was like any other family sitting down to lunch, with George and Charlotte eating their homemade food in their high chairs and toddling around with their toys."

And it has been reported the couple - who have been married for six years after they tied the knot in an unforgettable ceremony held at London's Westminster Abbey on April 29, 2011 - do not have "an army of staff" to look after them all the time, but they are believed to have one nanny named Maria Turrion Borrallo who is available to assist the brunette beauty - who was formerly known as Kate Middleton prior to her marriage - and her spouse Prince William if needs be.

The insider explained: "You'd think that Kate and William would have an army of staff to help them out, but it really was just them and the children."
