Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall

Britain's Duchess of Cornwall will enjoy a Christmas dinner with the staff who organise Meals on Wheels.

The 67-year-old royal will visit the Jubliee Centre in St Albans, Hertfordshire on Wednesday (10.12.14) where she will be meeting with the team behind the company who provide hot dinners for the elderly and disabled.

The staff at the company will be busy enjoying with traditional roast dinner when the royal pops in, but she will undoubtedly be offered a mince pie or a slice of turkey.

The Duchess is the patron of Emmaus UK - a charity which supports homeless people - and an honorary member of the National Association of Care Catering (NACC), an organisation which works together with day care centres and residential homes to provide catering.

During her visit, the Duchess will participate in workshops, as well as meeting with volunteers, companions and staff.

Duchess Camilla has already started preparing for her own Christmas meal following a trip to Fortnum & Mason.

According to the Daily Express newspaper, the royal indulged in a spot of retail therapy as she walked around the posh department store armed with a bag emblazoned with the phrase "swag".

Camilla had been invited to the London store to open special pop-up shop in support of the charity Fine Cell Work. The charity trains prisoners in needlework and pays them up to £500 a year for the cushions, bags, tea cosies, quits and Christmas decorations they produce.
