Duchess Catherine at the Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom

Duchess Catherine at the Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom

Duchess Catherine recycled her dress for the 'Nelson Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom' Royal Premiere last night (05.12.13).

The 31-year-old royal looked stunning as she walked the red carpet with her husband Prince William at the event in London's Leicester Square, and several eagle-eyed fans of the brunette beauty spotted she had worn the same garment, which showed off her legs thanks to a thigh-high split, before.

Catherine - known as Kate Middleton before her and William's nuptials in 2011 - sported the white long-sleeved Roland Mouret gown in May 2012 at the Thirty Club dinner at Claridge's hotel in London's Mayfair.

However, the duchess did look slightly different this time around as she accessorised her outfit with a black clutch bag, black pumps and a chunky silver statement necklace from clothing chain Zara.

William strolled alongside his wife looking his usual dapper self in a black tuxedo and bow tie, but the evening was tinged with sadness as during the screening of the movie it was announced in South Africa that the country's former president Nelson Mandela - who the film is about - had died.

After the screening, William made a statement about the anti-apartheid revolutionary, who passed away peacefully at his home in Johannesburg, South Africa.

He said: "I just wanted to say it's extremely sad and tragic news.

"We were just reminded what an extraordinary and inspiring man Nelson Mandela was. My thoughts and prayers are with him and his family. It's very sad."

The movie tells the story of political figure's life and is based on his 1994 autobiography 'Long Walk to Freedom'.
