Britain's Duchess Catherine visited the National Maritime Museum today (10.06.14).
The stunning royal, 32, wore an elegant white Jaeger dress with black trim for the event in Greenwich, London, where she met the supporters behind the bid to launch a British team to take part in sailing competition, the America's Cup.
Crowds cheered for Catherine as she made her way towards Sir Ben Ainslie, who is leading the bid and introduced her to museum staff at the event.
It was Catherine's first solo royal engagement since she and husband Prince William and 11-month-old son Prince George returned from their tour of New Zealand and Australia.
Sir Ben's aim to enter a British team in 2017 relies on the design and technology plans in the UK to see whether a boat could be built which is capable of winning.
The race first took place near the Isle of Wight in the mid-19th Century - but a British team has never won the event and Sir Ben is determined to change this.
Meanwhile, Catherine and William attended the commemorations for the 70th anniversary of the D-Day landings last week and they also went to Scotland to visit a whisky distillery.
