Britain's Duchess Catherine will leave St Mary's Hospital this evening (02.05.15).
Kensington Palace has confirmed the 33-year-old royal and her husband, Prince William, will leave the Lindo Wing of the facility in Paddington, London, with their newborn daughter later this evening, with the family spending the night at the palace.
A statement read: "Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge will be leaving St. Mary's Hospital, Paddington this evening.
"The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and their daughter will travel home to Kensington Palace."
Prince William and Catherine took the opportunity to thank fans for their "warm wishes," as well as praising staff at the hospital, who delivered the child, weighing 8lbs 3oz, at 8.34am.
It continued: "Their Royal Highnesses would like to thank all staff at the hospital for the care and treatment they have all received.
"They would also like to thank everyone for their warm wishes."
In the message, posted on the couple's official Twitter account, it was also revealed 21-month-old Prince George has now left the hospital after visiting his newborn sister.
It added: "Prince George has now returned to Kensington Palace."
The couple's as-yet unnamed second child is fourth in line to the throne, behind her grandfather Prince Charles, who is "absolutely delighted" by the news, her father Prince William and brother Prince George.
