Duchess Catherine's Seraphine maternity dress sold out in two hours after she was pictured wearing it.

The 31-year-old royal was seen sporting a £46 purple dress from the maternity fashion brand in the first official family photographs of her, Prince William and newborn Prince George, which were released this week, and eager enthusiasts wasted little time to snap up the design from Seraphine's website.

The dress went out of stock in two hours on the online store, but Seraphine's owner Cecile Reinaud is confident they can handle the influx of orders.

She told MailOnline: "We have wonderful suppliers who are just as excited as us about this news and are working hard to produce more stock to satisfy this incredible demand.

"The response has been phenomenal with the dress being sold out within two hours after the news came out at midnight."

The duchess' frugal maternity style has been widely praised and the glowing royal appeared in high spirits as she posed with her son and husband.

Cecile previously praised Catherine for looking "radiant" in the first pictures of the family, which were taken by her father Michael Middleton.

She said: "It is an immense honour that the Duchess chose a Seraphine dress for her official family photograph.

"She looks so radiant in our bright fuchsia design. It's a perfect choice to show the world her happiness with her newborn and husband."
