Britain's Duchess Catherine chose a nude dress for yesterday's (04.06.13) Westminster Abbey service to ensure she didn't "upstage" Queen Elizabeth.
That is according to fashion expert Carly Wood - who set up katemiddletonstyle.org - as she believes the pregnant royal chose to wear her Jenny Packham design for the 60th anniversary of the monarch's coronation because it was subtle.
She said: "This outfit takes me back to the peach lace McQueen number worn by Kate at the Jubilee service last year, which she paired with the same hat, earrings and shoes.
"Perhaps this was Kate's intention. To keep the outfit understated and elegant, perfect for a ceremony of such importance.
"Anything too bright or fancy and she would have upstaged the Queen and garnered criticism."
While Carly loved the duchess' style choice for the celebration event in central London, she insists her outfits are all a bit too similar.
Speaking to The Huffington Post, she added: "Although the colour was perfect for summer, and it highlighted Kate's natural glow as an expectant mother, for me it's all getting a little 'samey samey'."
