Cressida Bonas has "turned down" a number of modelling opportunities.
The 24-year-old beauty - who has been dating Prince Harry soon after they were introduced in May 2012 by Princess Beatrice - isn't keen to model for luxury brand designers although she's hoping to earn her "own money".
An insider told the Daily Star on Sunday newspaper: "Cressida has turned down a fortune for huge modelling jobs for fashion houses.
"She would make a terrific model but she won't do it. We are all laughing as she goes for the scruffy charity shop look rather than designer labels.
"She is not the sort of girl to swan around doing nothing.
"She's got a terrific brain and wants to use it. It's important to her to earn her own money but she has to be careful.
"In many ways her life is on hold as she can't do what she wants because of dating Harry - it wouldn't look right."
Cressida recently gave up her dream of becoming a professional dancer to take on the £20,000-a-year position in theatre marketing.
