Cressida Bonas has landed a job in theatre marketing.
The 24-year-old beauty - the girlfriend of Britain's Prince Harry - has given up her dream of becoming a professional dancer to take on the £20,000-a-year position as she reportedly hated the thought of always doubting whether she had landed roles on merit or because of her royal connections.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "Cressie was very upset to give up on dance performance. But she is fiercely independent and doesn't want anything through her connection to Harry.
"She said she knew that if she was ever given major roles she would always wonder whether she had earned it or whether it was given to her because of her status."
Harry is said to be "smitten" with Cressida, and friends say she is very like his mother, the late Princess Diana.
The source added: "She's such an honest, sweet girl and in many ways is like Diana. Harry is just smitten."
Meanwhile, the couple reportedly enjoyed a romantic break at Cressida's family farm in Norfolk, East England, last weekend.
The estate - where the 29-year-old prince met his girlfriend's father for the first time last summer - is just a short drive away from the royal residence of Sandringham.
