Britain's Countess of Wessex got a bridal henna tattoo yesterday (18.05.14).
Sophie, Countess of Wessex - who is married to the youngest son of Queen Elizabeth and the Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Edward - had the decorative body art painted on her hand and index finger by the artist Humaira Rehrel at the Heart and Soul garden party held by the Church of Scotland in Edinburgh this weekend.
The 49-year-old royal is set to celebrate her 15th wedding anniversary next month, but she decided to begin the celebrations early by having the henna designs drawn on her at the annual event, which celebrates global religion.
Meanwhile, her husband Prince Edward was helping to prepare meals from a number of different cuisines in the nearby kitchen.
The couple, who met at a charity event in 1993 before getting married in 1999 and having two children, Lady Louise Windsor and James, Viscount Severn, are set to visit a number of other locations in Scotland during their visit and are scheduled to officially open the historic Dock Park in Dumfries after its £2 million revamp this afternoon (19.05.14).
