The Queen has launched a search to find a nurse to work at Windsor Castle

She’s not usually one to wash her dirty linen in public, so perhaps that’s why it’s so surprising that the Queen has launched a rare public search to find a new holistic nurse to work at Windsor Castle.

An advert has been placed on the royal website, seeking applicants for the £16,500-a-year job.  The post is for 20 hours a week, and will require 15 years of nursing experience, as well as a range of other clinical skills.  It comes after the Duke of Edinburgh spent five nights in hospital in June, so perhaps that is why a new nurse is being sought after.

The advert says: “The post-holder is expected to develop, monitor and manage an effective and competent level of holistic nursing care to the Royal household, guests at royal functions and, at times, the Royal family in residence.”

However, if anyone is considering applying for the job to get to gossip with the Windsors, they may be sadly disappointed.  The advert also states that the nurse will be mainly looking after Royal household employees, guests attending functions at Windsor Castle, and, only on occasion, the Royals themselves.
