The credit crunch may be hard but British workers say they would rather face pay cuts than see others lose their jobs. A survey revealed that 73% of workers are happy to take a pay cut rather than allow colleagues to be made redundant.
The survey, carried out by recruitment website fish4 jobs has revealed that 49% of workers expect the salary to be cut or frozen this year but say they would rather that than watch colleagues be forced from their jobs.
Most feel that bosses should cut their pay to help the crisis. 79% said they thought bosses' pay should be cut to see the company through the economic downturn.
Other suggestions included performance related pay schemes, introducing green initiatives around the office and cutting back on staff benefits.
