Take a look at this video of Prince William highlighting why it is so important to learn how to swim and why he is backing the bid to get more children in the pool.
The Swimming’s Governing Body, the ASA (Amateur Swimming Association) and Kellogg’s released a survey showing that 51 per cent of children between 7 and 11 cannot swim 25 metres unaided.
There’s a bid to get all children to be able to swim at least 25 metres unaided by the time they leave school and now Prince William is also supporting this bid.
In the video he highlights how important learning to swim is as drowning is the biggest cause of accidental death in the UK.
