Heidi Murkoff, author of the internationally bestselling 'What to Expect When You’re Expecting' series, and creator of the popular pregnancy and parenting brand, has launched WhatToExpect.co.uk – the first time the site and its content have been tailored especially for British mums (and dads).
Heidi wrote the perennially bestselling book 'What to Expect When You’re Expecting', dubbed the “pregnancy bible,” when she was pregnant with her first child Emma and couldn’t find the answers to her questions or reassurance for her worries in the books she’d turned to for advice. (And just this month Emma gave birth to her first child, a son called Lennox Page Ali).
The book has even been turned into a film starring Cameron Diaz and Jennifer Lopez and has had a phenomenal run of 600 weeks and counting on The New York Times bestseller list.
Now in its fourth edition, 'What to Expect When You’re Expecting' is read by 93 per cent of first-time US mums who read a pregnancy book, and was named one of the top “25 Most Influential Books in the Last 25 Years.” Time magazine also named Heidi one of the 100 Most Influential People in the World for 2011.
Heidi said: “Expectant and new mums and dads in the UK have long been active members of our amazing global family– and they’ve relied on What to Expect to bring them the advice, reassurance, and hand-holding every parent craves.
“But for the first time, they’ll be able to tap into a WhatToExpect site with content that’s just for them and a community that’s uniquely theirs.
“As I’ve always said, motherhood is the ultimate sisterhood – it’s a bond that links mums no matter where in the world we live.
“But parenthood is local, too - especially when you’re eager to make friends with local mums, or find a baby-friendly park or a shop that sells the cutest nursery furnishings - and now our British family of families will have a home of their own at WhatToExpect.co.uk”
Here, Heidi shares some useful pregnancy advice to give you a taster of the quality information you can find on the WhatToExpect website.
