Duchess Catherine gave birth earlier this week and instead of asking for luxurious gifts, her and William asked for donations to charity instead.
Unfortunately, the majority of Brits can’t follow the trend and are instead asking for gifts that will help with the baby’s development.
AXA found that expected gifts came in all shapes and sizes, but the most popular were toys and rattles and dummies.
Take a look at the full list below –
1. Toys
2. Rattles and dummies
3. Pram
4. Car seat
5. Cot
6. Baby toiletries
7. Designer clothes and shoes
8. High chairs
9. Nursery decorations
10. Contribution to a savings account
Cheryl Toner, group marketing and communications director for AXA, said, “The arrival of a new baby is always a time for celebration, so it is no surprise that family and friends will often shower a newborn with gifts.
“Our research has identified a growing trend of significant generosity when it comes to a new arrival. This is clearly welcomed by those fortunate enough to receive this support, especially given the costs associated with the first few months and years of a new baby’s life.”
