Story time is still one of the most precious past times for children and UK mums have had in their say in who they think should pen their very own children’s book.
The top 10 had plenty of familiar names but it was Lorraine Kelly, Peter Andre and The Duchess of Cambridge who made the top three.
The Munch Time survey also looked into which celebrities UK mums would like to read to their children.
Comedy duo Ant and Dec were given the top spot, no doubt due to their brilliant humour and ability to captivate an audience.
This Morning presenters Holly Willoughby and Philip Schofield gained second and third place, followed by queen of comedy Miranda Hart.
The Beckham’s grabbed fifth and six place most likely due to their reading skills being practised by reading to their four children over the years.
Despite celebrity children’s authors making a bigger impact in children’s literature, only 15 per cent of mum’s are more likely to buy a book for their child if it was written by someone famous.
This is why each year the Munch Time competition aims to find a new, talented children’s author.
In its fifth year, the annual Munch Time children's story writing competition is supported by the National Literacy Association.
Ray Barker, the charity's Chair and Munch Time judge, said, “It's been proved time and time again that children who are introduced to the joy of sharing books and stories at an early age will be at an advantage when they start school.
“Making reading fun is so important and well known personalities, through to family and friends, can all have a role to play."
