Parenting News: Parents Vote Miley Cyrus as Worst Celebrity Role Model
Many people will remember when Miley Cyrus was the sweet little girl on the Hannah Montana show but now, she has been voted as the worst celebrity role model.
A total of 2,407 parents were polled by CouponCodes4u and they named the LOL actress as the worst celebrity role model for their children.
Miley even managed to beat wild child Amanda Bynes to the top of the list, due to her overly sexualised image and her inability to make positive life choices.
Despite her arrest history and stints in rehab, Lindsay Lohan only managed to come second on the list, followed closely by Kim Kardashian.
Troubled star Amanda Bynes made fourth on the list, but it is suprising that she hasn’t come higher after her recent erratic behaviour and arrest for a suspected drug related incident.
Teen Mom turned porn star Farrah Abraham came fifth on the list, followed by popstars Rihanna and Ke$ha.
Another Kardashian to make the top 10 was Kourtney Kardashian at number eight, followed by Heidi Montag and Taylor Momsen.
The main reasons parents listed for these ladies making the list was due to their poor life choices, having no talent and being overly sexualised.
It wasn’t just the women that were given a slating, it was men too, with Chris Brown hitting the number one spot for the men, no doubt to do with his assault on Rihanna back in 2009.
Kanye West came in at number two and Justin Bieber rounded off the top 3.
Mark Pearson, chairman of CouponCodes4u, said, “As a celebrity, it must be difficult for people all over the world to not only know who you are but also watch your every move.
“The trouble is, many younger Americans currently look at certain celebrities as their personal idols, which must worry some parents.
“With these survey results, it is pretty obvious that many parents not only do not approve of celebrities of today, but even go as far to discourage their children from liking them!”
