British mums are best at showing love and affection for their children, although overall, mothers think they could do better in other areas.
Mums said that providing love for their offspring was their greatest skill - with over half rating themselves as a nine or 10 out of 10.

Whilst providing love and affection are winners for British mums, it is apparent we find it hard to say no to our children with 56 per cent of Brits only giving themselves a seven or below out of ten for their discipline skills.
The results emerged in a study of 1,000 mums by Mother and Baby brand Cussons Mum & Me, who asked UK mums to rate their expertise in a range of key areas, including discipline, love & affection, organisation and passing on knowledge.
Organisation was another improvement area for mums up and down Britain, with a quarter scoring themselves just six out of 10 or below for their ability to plan in advance, remember key dates and get everything done at once.
A spokesperson from Cussons Mum & Me said: “Motherhood is a rollercoaster of emotions and the expectations to be ‘perfect’ put mums under extra pressure.
“They should take a step back, relax and be the parent that works best for them, not what society makes them think they should be.”

1. Showing affection
2. Giving children the love they need
3. Teaching children to be kind
The top three skills where mums thought they were lacking:
1. Having time to play with their kids
2. Being patient with them
3. Disciplining
